Owner/Massage Therapist
Corbin Pemberton is a Massage Therapy Instructor, a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Lymphatic Therapist with over 17 years of experience in the massage industry. He received his initial massage training at Oceans Massage School in 2005. Mr. Pemberton has been a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) since 2007. Corbin has trained under John Barnes, PT for myofascial release; under Scott Howard, DC for kinesiology and deep tissue techniques; as well as at the Vodder School International TM for Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy (compression bandaging).
Mr. Pemberton obtained his Massage Therapy Instructor (MTI) license in 2009 and he began teaching at Oceans Massage School, where his breadth of teaching includes: Anatomy & Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology, Postural Assessment, and Swedish Massage techniques. In addition to teaching at the school, he is currently a sought-after massage specialist for various sports injuries throughout the region.
Corbin began practicing as an independent contractor at Natural Health Chiropractic in Lubbock, TX in 2005. For the next eight years, he worked closely with Scott Howard, DC to improve the health and well-being of clients with a variety of diagnoses including: whiplash, frozen shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and numerous structural conditions. This experience has led to refining treatment protocols for the above conditions along with others that you will find in his PRIME course offerings. In 2006, Corbin expanded his practice by becoming an independent contractor at Avalon Day Spa, also in Lubbock where he operated until 2015, when Avalon merged with DermaSmooth Med Spa. Mr. Pemberton continues to practice as an independent contractor at Dermasmooth.
Remember, according to TDLR, which governs the licensing of massage in Texas, continuing education that is presented on-line is acceptable ONLY if the subject matter is NOT massage therapy techniques or manipulation of soft tissue. We wholeheartedly agree that massage techniques should only be taught in person and not in on-line offerings. That is why all PRIME course offerings are taught in person, with minimal lecture and at least 5 hours of each 6 hour course dedicated to “hands-on” learning.
